With the battle over SMO continuing, airport opponents have become more steadfast in their quest to close the Airport. The white outline in the photo above is what the City of Santa Monica believes they can close. So now the question is, can they close that section in July 2015 when the 1984 agreement expires or in 2023 when their grant obligations end.
